The donkeys

The donkeys benefit from natural meadows, offering them a diversified food, enriched with organic hay.

The number of births is controlled in order to guarantee the well-being of the donkeys and to ensure their future. Thus they can become market gardening donkeys, shepherds or excellent hiking companions. Each donkey is identified to the national stud farms.

For the respect of the breast feeding of the foal, we opt for a moderate production of milk. The rhythm is adapted to the growth of the foal and the seasons. We leave the young ones in exclusivity with their mother during their first three months.

The milking is manual in order to privilege the proximity and the softness with the donkey.

Donkey milk is a natural beauty remedy used since the dawn of time. It is also said that Cleopatra took donkey milk baths perfumed with rose petals to preserve the beauty of her skin.

The products

The production of donkey milk is used for the manufacture of cold process soaps, and the cosmetic range. These products contain respectively 10% and 7.5% of fresh milk, a quantity which allows the maximum release of active principles.

The donkey milk and cold process soaps are certified Nature & Progrès.

The cosmetics are certified Ecocert.

The farm of the Donkeys of Autan holds the double mention Ecocert and Nature & Progress.
